Cool Country Contacts & Other Creative Stuff

       I was just recently contacted for the first time by someone who lives in Switzerland. She was a inbound to District 5010 (my home district) last year and lived in Canada. Now that my application was sent to my host country I will be hearing from my host club any day now. I am also starting to put together my powerpoint presentation that I will be giving at my host club when I get to Switzerland. The German language has been eluding me thus far but I have made a resolution to be relatively competent in my language skills by the time I leave. Finding Funds, Fulfillment, and Fun

       I have just started the process of raising funds for meeting the next installment deadline and have just been blown away by the response I have gotten. It is incredibly fulfilling to see my hard work starting to pay off. I know that even though August seems like a long way off, the time is just going to fly and I am finding that getting a head start on all the things that I am needing to do is going to be crucial for me to be able to get everything done. I am going to be going to a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) conference at the end of the month and am finding myself getting very hyped up about it. Anyways, I have got to go but I will keep you posted on the conference.

The Beginning of a Great Adventure

       This is the first of many posts documenting an incredible learning experience that will, over the course of the next year, change my life. I am going to be traveling to Switzerland next year for an exchange program through Rotary International. In exactly 6 months I will be boarding a plane that will be taking me there and this blog is my way of recording the incredible process leading up to going. However, it also is my way of documenting the memories that I make while in Switzerland. I hope you will utilize this blog to keep tabs on what is going on in my life as I would love for you join me in the amazing experience that is ahead of me.
